The Armament Directorate engaged with industry representatives, partners, and attendees to discuss new and energizing technology for integration into future weapon systems for the United States Air Force.

The Air & Space Forces Association Warfare Symposium is a live, in-person event at the Gaylord Rockies in Aurora, Colorado.
The 2023 event theme was: “Dominant Air & Space Forces to Deter, Fight & Win.”
We were looking to partner with the greatest minds, technologists, and innovators - all to evolve our $92 Billion weapons portfolio.
SPRING 2023
Weapons Conclave (WEPCON) is a two-part, bi-annual event series focused on driving Air Force alignment and synergies, and increasing partnership conversations with industry.
This event was a forum primarily with the U.S. Air Force Armament Directorate’s prime contractors – reviewing enterprise roadmaps, weapons investment priorities, and budget targets.
We communicated contracting opportunities and various methods for submitting ideas to collaborate with the Directorate, including opportunities to pitch ideas for WEPCON Bravo.

The goal of the event was alignment with U.S. Air Force leadership and prime contractors -- in pursuit of solutions to the Armament Directorate's most critical needs.

A full agenda of speaker presentations and a robust technology exposition greeted thousands of visitors.

Weapons Pitch Day is the crowning event for small business industry engagement, their Super Bowl, their March Madness, their Daytona 500.
Dozens of small businesses pitched to Air Force leadership for "Direct to Phase 2" SBIR contracts to accelerate the development of emerging weapons technology, focused on the Armament Directorate's Six Innovation Targets, at Weapons Pitch Day 2022.

We were pleased to host the third Ask The Directorate virtual event that continued to accelerate change and lower the barrier to entry by increasing conversations with business leaders.
For the June event, the featured speaker was Colonel Ronald Dunlap III, System Program Director for Air Dominance, Armament Directorate, Eglin Air Force Base, Florida.

We were pleased to host the second Ask The Directorate virtual event. It was an “Ask Me Anything” directly related to the Weapons Pitch Day solicitation.
This event was targeted towards small business innovators that intended to pitch the U.S. Air Force Armament Directorate early-stage, ‘low-maturity’ ideas – focused on our Six Innovation Targets. That year, the Directorate’s third Pitch Day awarded $30M in funding to multiple small business innovators, with individual contracts valued at up to $1.8M each.
We launched two events back-to-back on Friday, May 6th, 2022 via Zoom. Both events featured Chief Engineer Manuel Agosto and Major Jorge Ramirez.

In the Armament Directorate’s ongoing effort to accelerate change and lower the barrier to entry, we kicked off a monthly Ask The Directorate series.
Inspired by the “Ask Me Anything” virtual events – participants had the opportunity to chat virtually with key leaders of the Directorate. Our first session featured Colonel David Hoffman, Deputy Disruptive Futures Division, Chief Digital Acquisition and Sustainment Office (DASO).
The first Ask The Directorate event launched on Friday, April 29th, 2022, via Zoom – and recurred at the same time, the last Friday of each month.

AFA worked closely with the Department of the Air Force leadership to create a truly memorable event for Airmen, Guardians, and their industry partners in celebration of the 75th Anniversary of AFA’s founding.
